2. Scope
This policy covers the Grinote marketing website (grinote.app), account creation, checkout, license delivery, and protected download. It does not cover clipboard content processed locally by the Grinote macOS app — that data stays on your Mac and is not uploaded to our servers.
3. Data we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may process:
- Account data: name, email address, and authentication credentials (password stored securely via our auth provider);
- Purchase data: payment status, Stripe customer and session identifiers, amount paid, and purchase timestamps;
- License data: license key, linked account, optional device identifier when you activate Grinote on a Mac;
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, session cookies required for sign-in, and server logs for security and troubleshooting.
4. Purposes and legal bases
We use your data to:
- create and manage your account;
- process one-time payments and deliver your license;
- provide protected download access after purchase;
- validate and bind license keys to a Mac device;
- maintain security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases include contract performance (purchase and account), legitimate interest (security and service operation), and legal obligation where applicable.
5. Processors
We rely on the following subprocessors, limited to what is necessary:
- Vercel Inc. — website hosting (United States);
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing;
- Turso / LibSQL — account, purchase, and license database;
- Cloudflare R2 — secure storage and delivery of the macOS installer (when configured).
Payment card details are handled directly by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
6. Retention
Account and license records are kept for as long as your account is active and as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. Server logs are retained for a limited period appropriate to security needs.
7. Your rights
Under applicable data protection law (including GDPR where it applies), you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
To exercise your rights, contact intelligence@aulique.com.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar technologies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies on this site.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. See also our Legal notice.
